Strengthening the immune system

Our immune system responds measurably to even short stays in the forest. The terpenes absorbed in the forest air, chemical messengers that the forest uses for communication, among other things, strengthen our immune system. They increase the number of our natural killer cells and make them more active. This makes it easier to keep viruses in check and reduce inflammation. Research results from Japan show that after just one day in the forest, the number of natural killer cells in the blood increased by an average of 40%. After two days in the forest, the value rose to more than 50%.
